On May 8, the 3rd Sunday of Pascha, the feast of the Holy Myrrh-bearing Women, Bishop Luke of Syracuse celebrated Divine Liturgy in the lower church of Venerable Job of Pochaev at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY.
His Grace was co-served by monastery and visiting clergy. During Divine Liturgy, with the blessing of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York, Bishop Luke ordained seminary students Deacon Romanos Regado to the priesthood and Lawrence Cunningham a subdeacon, then later to diaconate after the Eucharistic Canon. The newly ordained clerics will complete their studies, then continue their clerical service in the ROCOR Mission in the Philippines.
Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Bishop Luke delivered a sermon, after which he congratulated the new clerics, offering them his prayers that their missionary labors in the Philippines be fruitful and well-pleasing to God.
