In light of current circumstances relating to the spread of coronavirus COVID-19, the hierarchs and Diocesan Council have been weighing options for the Lenten Retreat for clergy of the Eastern American Diocese, which had been planned for March 23-25 at St. Alexander Nevsky Diocesan Cathedral in Howell, NJ.
It was resolved that, with the potential for travel complications and considering the local safety measures currently being implemented, the best course of action is to postpone the Retreat to a later date. Owing to the celebratory events planned for the centenary of the Russian Church Abroad, no autumn pastoral conference will be held this year.
Those clergy who have already registered are asked not to request a refund at this time, as supplies have already been purchased.
The clergy and faithful are asked to increase their prayers for one another and the good estate of Christ’s Holy Church during this time, as we traverse the sea of the Fast and approach the calm haven of the saving Paschal night.
