On January 15, a traditional Nativity reception was held in the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in New York City on behalf of Consul General Sergey K. Ovsyannikov and the Representation of the Moscow Patriarchate in the United States.
Attending the reception was Eastern American Diocesan Vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, Bishop Irinej of Eastern American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Consul General of Serbia in New York, Mirjana Zivkovic, Vicar General of the Antiochian Archdiocese in the United States, Archpriest Thomas Zain, clerics of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Russian Church Abroad and Serbian Orthodox Churches, as well as well as representatives from other nations’ diplomatic missions and various religious and secular organizations in America.
Sergey Ovsyannikov and Bishop Nicholas greeted those gathered with the feast of the Nativity of Christ and the New Year.
The reception continued with a concert by the Holy Royal Martyr, Tsar Nicholas II choir, singing Nativity hymns and carols.
