Moscow, Russia: Holy Synod approves Petitions for Preservation of Orthodox Unity - 09/15/18

The Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, during its extraordinary meeting on September 14 in the Patriarchal and Synodal Residence at St. Daniel’s Monastery in Moscow, adopted a resolution (Journal №70) accepting new petitions for the preservation of Orthodox unity, to be offered at every Divine Liturgy at the Augmented Litany.

"At its Tuesday, February 13, 2018 session, the Synod of Bishops resolved… that the diocesan cathedrals, monasteries, and other churches of the Russian Church Abroad, wherever possible, should serve nighttime Divine Services on the night of July 3/16 into 4/17, 2018.."


Directive from Synod of Bishops on Condition of Affairs at Synodal Candle Factory - 07/03/18

The Synod of Bishops "resolved… to close the Synodal Candle Factory and to dissolve its attendant St. Zosima corporation… to earnestly entreat the parishes of the North American dioceses to support the monasteries through the ordering of candles… if for honorable reasons parishes do not order from the monasteries indicated, to impose a tax in the amount of 10 percent of the profit from sales of said candles."

Registration for St. Seraphim Camp in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Eastern Pennsylvania has begun and is now available on line at the camp website. St. Seraphim Camp provides an Orthodox environment for children beginning with the third grade and through high school. Historical Audio Recordings of Great Lent in Jerusalem to be Released on Diocesan Website - 02/20/18

The Media Office of the Eastern American Diocese has recently undertaken a new project of digitizing several hundred hours of audio recordings from the diocesan archives. With God’s help, these audio recordings will be published in the podcast section of the website as they become available.
